What a roll number is
Every school in Ireland has a roll number — a four- or five-digit code, sometimes with a trailing letter, such as 00651R. It is the school's official identifier, and it is what forms ask for: enrolment, grant applications, school transport, NCSE correspondence.
Parents rarely know it, and it is not printed on anything they hold. That is the gap this site fills: search by school name, get the roll number — and the allocation that goes with it.
